Prerequisites

​

Candidate must hold a current class 5 learners licence to attend this course. Learner licence can be obtained after holding a full class 4 licence for 6 months (if under 25) or 3 months (if over 25). To get a learner class 5 licence you must sit a theory test at a NZTA driver licencing agent.

Course Outline

​

This course is held over 2 days and is made up of unit standards 24089 Logbook & Fatigue Management & 17577 Class 5.


Day one will cover off US 24089 where you will learn about signs and symptoms of fatigue and how to manage fatigue at work and at home. You will also learn about worktime hours and how to complete logbook entries. 

​

Day two will cover off US 17577 where you will learn about loading and securing loads, vehicle hazards, safe driving techniques, heavy combination vehicle dynamics and fines followed by a practical driving assessment.

​

Upon successfully passing these assessments you will be issued with a certificate that needs to be taken to a driver licencing agent to complete the licencing process.
