This course covers a class 4 rigid truck with a GVM (gross vehicle mass) of more than 18000kgs.
Prerequisites
Candidate must hold a current class 4 learners licence to attend this course. Learner licence can be obtained after holding a full class 2 licence for 6 months (if under 25) or 3 months (if over 25). To get a learner class 4 licence visit a NZTA driver licencing agent, apply for the licence and pay the driver licencing fee and one will be issued to you. There is no theory test required for this learner licence.
Course Outline
Course is made up of unit standards 24089 (unless proof of having completed a 24089 course as part of a driver licencing course is available) & 17576 Class 4 followed by a practical driving assessment.
This course is a one day course unless a Logbook & Fatigue Management course (US24089) is required. Logbook & fatigue management requires an extra day.
Please note that your NZQA record of learning is not acceptable evidence of attending a 24089 course.
Upon successfully passing this assessment you will be issued with a certificate that needs to be taken to a driver licencing agent and appropriate fee paid to complete the licencing process.
